God Save The Cyclist

No, I did not, like so many of my fellow Americans, wake up to watch The Wedding this morning.  Four in the morning is for sleeping unless you're a farmer or have a long commute.  It is not for watching an overblown marriage ceremony for people you've never met.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the British royal family.  I am quite a fan of the Queen actually.  One the the highlights of my teenage years was seeing her in London.

But, I am not a fan of getting obsessed about things that don't really affect us.  The NFL Draft is another one of those things.

Anyway, as I was listening to NPR playing an excerpt of the Arch Bishop (who sounds exactly like Christopher Lee) going through the pronouncement or whatever it reminded me of something else that is British.

#saveacyclist

The #saveacyclist campaign started earlier this year as a Twitter hashtag, then an account, then a Facebook campaign, and now it has its own WordPress site.  They also have shirts.  And stickers. The purpose is to promote support for cyclists in the UK.  What started as a murmur on Twitter has taken the cycling social media world by storm.

So, if you're in the UK (or you wish you were) check out their site for updates on their current projects and find out how you can help.

Have a great weekend everyone!
