The Mr. at the Skoda Tour of Luxembourg!

The Mr. has returned from his adventures in the glorious lands of Germany and Luxembourg where bicycles are king and the beer is delicious.  I still haven't quite gotten over my jealousy, but I'm glad he is back.

On his last day (June 2), he had the amazing opportunity to watch the start of Stage 1 of the the Skoda Tour of Luxembourg!  This is the first pro tour anyone from the BOTW house has seen in the flesh.  Leopard-Trek who had chosen its strongest riders to participate o its home turf (sans Andy).  On that day, of course, it was Fabian Cancellera in the yellow jersey after his prologue win the day before.  Here's a screenshot of the video the Mr. took of the team's introduction (at this point, Blogger isn't cooperating with my video uploads).

If he had been a little closer it would have looked like this:

The home team:  Jens, Martin, Jakob, Linus, Frank, Fabian, Stuart, and Maxime (Hennes Roth)
This line-up and Andy Schleck will be racing again at the Tour De Suisse from the 11th-19th.

He took tons of pictures that morning and here is a selection:

Luxembourger, Frank Schleck of Leopard-Trek in his special Tour of
Lux kit. Frank took 2nd Place on the 5th Stage and placed 21st in GC.

Linus Gerdemann (in front) and his Leopard-Trek Teammates.  He ended up winning Stage 2 and the
overall at the 2011 Tour of Luxembourg

Maxime Monfort (who took overall 4th), Jakob Fuglsang (23rd), and Martin Mortensen (DNF)
I was really pumped that the Mr. had a chance to see a bit of the tour and get as close as he did to some of the greatest cyclists in the world like Frank Schleck, Jens Voigt, and the rest of Team Leopard-Trek.  It was very sweet of him to spend the time and take pictures for me, knowing how much I'd want to be there.

To top it off, he even tracked down a cycle shop in Lux City to pick up a souvenir for me, a long-sleeved Team Leopard-Trek jersey!

Knowing my love for Trappist Ales and the German toys, Playmobil, he also threw those in my gift bag with a box of amazing chocolates from this guy.

I am a lucky (but still a little jealous) girl!
