Shots From The First Ride

Here are some pictures of the flooding we were trying to get around on Saturday. The bike path we were attempting to use runs along the Sauer river or Sure. As you can see, it was pretty intense. There were a number of spots that the water was over the trail in several inches. Most of these were taken in the town of Diekirch and despite the water and grey sky, it was still beautiful.

On a related note, I'm doing ok after my close and unintentional examination of the curb and sidewalk during that ride. There's stiffness and tenderness and my neck is still pretty tight from the whiplash. However, I'm very thankful to be suffering from that instead of a head injury (which is nothing short of miraculous). After another day or so of icing and heat therapy, things should be feeling much better. But, I'm going to wait until the river recedes before attempting any further exploration of the area by bike.
